Morning Uniko fans.
It's day two of the February birthday release introductions.
Today we are featuring the brand new stencil Abstract Triangles and Birthday Wishes stamp set.
Here is my card using the stencil as well as Big n Bold Happy stamp set.
To start, I taped my stencil over an A6 panel of white card, masking off a central section.
Using a water based fineliner, I traced inside each of the triangles before colouring with Copics.
On a strip of black card I stamped the sentiments from Big n Bold Happy and embossed with white EP before trimming down to size. The happy was cut from white then a shadow cut from black.
Everything was glued flat onto the coloured panel.
The second card uses the Birthday Wishes stamp set.
As there were so many different sentiments to use I decided I would use them all and make a sentiment background.
Using my MISTI, I arranged the stamps to cover an A6 card panel, filling in the gaps with other Uniko birthday themed stamps, such as Birthday Sentiments and Big n Bold Happy. Using Versamark ink, I inked the whole array and stamped onto a panel of bright blue card and embossed it with clear glossy EP. I kept the assembled stamps on the MISTI and stamped off a couple more, but more of those later. As I had one of the bobbler dies left over from this card and the balloon dies and stencil were on my desk too, I added one in a complementary orange. Details on construction of the balloon can be found here. In the spaces between the entiments, I went in with the two solid stars from the Seeing Stars set and embossed in the same EP before adding the balloon.
For some more fab inspiration featuring these new stamps and stencil check out the rest of team. All details of the release so far are here.
OMG that balloon card is just WOW! That bg looks amazing, what a cool card Julie.
ReplyDeleteLove both the cards :)
ReplyDeleteThat's such a neat idea to use pen inside the stencil before adding colour. Gives such a precise and sharp look. Also love the all over background you created, never easy to get different stamps to fit so well!
ReplyDeleteWOW! 2 fantastic bold designs with the goodies Julie. Love how you've used the stencil with the added outline and such yummy colours. Then your balloon simply POPs against all those sentiments and another fab colour combo. x
ReplyDeleteBoth are stunning cards, love the idea of the second card, will be using that one if that's ok.
ReplyDeleteAwesome to outline and colour, absolutely LOVING all these new ideas and techniques to try ;) I think my favourite is how you have used the Birthday Wishes sentiments to create the BG on your second card - genius and so creative. Thank you for an awesome and inspirational showcase of Uniko. Hugs Bev x
ReplyDeleteTwo fabulous showcases, Julie! Love the rainbow+outline of the first; bright and cheery! Delighting in seeing all the fabulous sentiments getting some attention on your background panel; a fun landing spot for your balloon!
