Hello and welcome back!
Yay, STAMPlorations are back from their summer hollybobs!
Just to wet your appetite for the new season releases we are revisiting some of the current stamps and dies. Today we are looking at some of the previously released CUTplorations Christmas dies.
My first card uses the 'Let it snow' die.
I'd seen lots of cards using snowmen cut from die cuts but after seeing this card I had to have a go with just the head! The original by the talented Ardyth is OL but I used some punched circles, a snippet of orange for his nose and a free cut titfer, all glued onto a snow white base card with the CUTplorations Let it Snow die.
My sentiment phrase was cut from the same white card and again from black. The black was glued to the back of the white with just a smidgen of black peeping through to give a subtle dark shadow. Then the whole panel was glued onto the base card, very CAS.
Still in CAS mode, my second card uses one of the Christmas Baubles II layering die with a silver die cut Peace, Love and Joy sentiment.
On a panel of white card I embossed the patterned die from the set, running it through my BigShot. Before removing the die I went in with my Prismacolor pencils to colour the raise areas. After removing the die, I decided I wanted some more colour so v carefully, I went in again with my coloured pencils.
The sentiment die was cut from an old Christmas card and glued in the bottom right of the panel. I wanted a string to hang my bauble from so using a scoreboard I added one, job done. If you don't want to go to all the effort of embossing, you could just cut out the two dies and layer them up before adding to your card.
OK, that's it from me but why not pop along to the STAMPlorations blog and check out what the rest of the DT have come up with.
Before you leave here, leave a comment and as you hop along the other DT's posts, leave a message there too for a chance to win the choice of two (2) Christmas word/phrase dies or a $15 GC to the store.
