Morning, hope you had a great weekend.
I'm back with another of the February release stencils from Uniko. This card uses the Equalizer Stencil, there is a Background Blocks stamp version out as well. To go with both these is the Life is a Song stamp set, which I used for the sentiment.
My son and hubby are techy geeks so I knew what an equalizer was before I saw the stencil!
When I first started going out with my OH in the 70's they were all over the HiFi kit he used to ogle over in expensive retailers windows, not so much theses days, ogling at kit that is!
I started with a panel of black card then using some Dreamweaver glossy white stencil paste, I laid down my background. When dry I replaced the now clean stencil and inked the bars with DI, Blueprint Sketch, Salty Ocean, Mowed Lawn, Mustard Seed and Festive Berries, blending as I went. I chose deep colours as pale ones would have been lost on the white paste.
To finish I added a sentiment embossed with white EP.
Has that whetted your appetite some more? If so there's more to come from me and the rest of the team over the next couple of days.
Fabulous showcase of this set! I need to add embossing paste to my collection so I can replicate the cool design you've created!

Great effects with this set on the black card...very striking.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful showcase with this equaliser stencil Julie and I love your explanation of the technique. I've not tried inking over dry paste ... in fact I rarely use paste at as I get in such a mess but your card is just stunning and pops perfectly against the black background. x
ReplyDeleteGreat minds think alike ! Love your showcase of this stamp set ! And you taught me something, I didn't know we could blend inks over embossing paste, in fact I've never tried and neither thought of it ! And I love the result ! xx
ReplyDeleteTaught me too Julie! Love this look and will be trying the technique too.
ReplyDeletelove your card and thanks for sharing how you made this colorful card:)
ReplyDeleteThank you for explaining how you got all the soft colours on the stencilled equaliser - I must try that! I remember my father going on and on about equaliers on his stereo!! Great work x
ReplyDeleteI like the colors and the use of stencil paste.
ReplyDeleteFab card, love that stencil and you have chosen great colours :)

HiFi....that's a word I haven't heard for many years, although ours is sitting in its cabinet in the sitting room, and gets used quite often when I have a need to listen to 10cc on vinyl!! I love this card, the colours are beautifully blended xx
ReplyDeleteJulie, I love love love your stenciled rainbow equalizer with the soft blending!
ReplyDeleteGreetings from Wiebke
