Good morning.
Have you said March hare this morning?
Well it is the first of a new month and there is an 'R' in March as per the old English tradition!
Anyway it is Tuesday so as it's 9 o'clock it must be time for a new challenge over at Cardz4Guyz.
This week we would like to see a masculine project where you -
MAKE YOUR OWN BACKGROUND
For my card I went with an inked background to my little sailing boats.
I'd come across a card by Chari Moss for Lawn Fawn, I used her idea of the inked and masked waves.
I cut a mask from a post it and started with Twisted Citron DI then added Salty Ocean and Mermaid Lagoon in alternate layers until I got the effect. I cut the panel in three, using a thin strip of the darker blue for the horizon then with the other two panels I used a circle punch to cut away the edge to create a wave pattern.
The sky was inked using Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade, blended to give a smooth finish with some die cut clouds as smoke from the Woodware boats, which I stamped then coloured with Copics before fussy cutting out. Arranging the boats behind the waves, I popped up the top layer on pads.
As the greeting was surrounded by other bits on the actual stamp, I masked them off with post it's before inking then removed them and stamped the MFT die cut banner.
OK, that's it from me but please check out the rest of the team for more inspiration and why not join us this week.
I'd like to join in over at -
