Adore You

Good morning again.
This time I'm posting to share a DT card for our new challenge over at Fantasy Stampers.
For our next challenge we would like to see your STAMPED projects on the theme of -

LOVE IS IN THE AIR

Hubby and I aren't especially into Valentines and stuff, so I went with this card that was inspired by a few of the not so overtly Valentine themed challenges out there at the mo.

The choice of colours was influenced by the picture montage at Stampin' Royalty,

the cue words at ATCAS and CASology and the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.
I was drawn to the butterfly image and the red and black colourway in the photo, so I used a butterfly from my STAMPlorations Trendy Butterflies set and a selection of red inks.
To begin with I die cut some post its with the letters using a v old Sizzix Sizzlits set 'Endless Love'. I was only talking to some girls at class on Wednesday about these old dies and thought they would be just the right script for this. I then placed the masks and over stamped with the solid butterfly, 1st and 2nd generation. The black pattered one was created by kissing the clean butterfly stamp onto a textured background from STAMPlorations Mixed Media Grunge set inked with black ink.
After removing the masks of the letters I thought it needed a little more umph, so added plain white die cuts over the top. The YOU was stamped on black and embossed with white EP.

OK, that's it from me, please check out the rest of the DT's inspiration and why not join in, just remember to use a rubber stamp as your focal point!

Congratulations

Good morning all. Hope I find you safe and well after all the storms.
This is my last post as Guest Designer at Sketch Saturday, I've really enjoyed this month playing along with one of my fave challenges but I have to admit that it will be good to be able to take part again as a regular punter!
Anyway here is my card using a sketch of my choice.

I used this sketch from their great archive.

Inline image 1

For this card I recycled an image from LOTV, masking off the panel and teddies after stamping to ink in the background. I used Copics to put in the details and then added some Glossy Accents on the right hand trailing vines to match the sketch. I also added a little bit of Stickles glitter to the water and moon. The square panel was mounted on silver and a sentiment stamped in black.
Please check out the rest of the DT and why not join in, the choice of sketch is all yours.

As You Like It Challenge

I have done OL cards but I must admit that even just one layer adds dimension to an otherwise CAS card and I love to use stacked die cuts!

Silhoutte

Good evening folks.
Well the man from BT has been finally been and done his stuff after over a week of intermittent internet, crackly phone line then no phone at all for the last 4 days.
So hopefully we now have a phone line as well as an internet connection! Apparently it was a faulty connection at the top of a pole 500m away. Glad it wasn't me up the pole in this weather but the guy said it was OK as he was strapped to it!!!

Anyway I can finally indulge in some not for DT purposes posting.

I made this with a couple of challenges in mind.
Over at Less is More, the challenge is to use a silhouette on your card.
I have a few stamps that fit the remit but settled on a combination of Stampin Up and Indigo Blue for this card. I stamped the seed heads on a panel of smooshed card that I made a while ago when playing. I think it was a mixture of blue and platinum as looks like a third or fourth smooch as it is quite pale. It has a gorgeous shimmer and the light blue smooching just reminded me of the sky.
I mounted the panel on a linen effect base card and the added a white embossed sentiment on black.

Took my inspiration from the layout, silhouetted butterfly, thanks and smooshed background.

Nautical

Good morning all.
Looks like we will be battening down the hatches here as the storm that swept across the US at the weekend reaches GB. Hope you are all safe and sound over there, thank goodness that snow is not forecast, just strong winds and heavy rain.
Anyway down to business. As it's Tuesday it's time for a new challenge over at Cardz4Guyz. This week our theme is -

SPOTS and/or STRIPES

Simples. Just create a masculine project that has spots and stripes on it somewhere!
Here is my interpretation.

I used the sketch from the Paper Players for my layout and a few scraps from the bits box. I kept the colours to red and blue to match my nautical theme, using a LOTV stamp, coloured with Copics, fussy cut then placed over a circle die coloured to look like a life saving ring. This is no doubt off to replenish Ben's party card stash.
So please check out the rest of the DT's fab inspiration and join us this week.

Little Monster

Good morning all.
Hope you are looking forward to a great weekend.
It appears that our internet connection is still playing up so I am typing this while I have it!
So I must apologise again for my lack of commenting.
This is my penultimate post for my GD spot over at Sketch Saturday. It's been fab ladies thanks for asking.

This week we are sponsored by Drawn with Character, not a company I have come across before but I loved this little monster from a set of three, so had to use him.

Here is this week's sketch.
After printing him out, I coloured him with Copics then fussy cut him and put him to one side while I made the background. I used my friend Loll's smooshing technique with Inka Gold wax in Steel Blue and a spray of water and a little bit of the wax in Platinum on a craft mat. I smooshed a piece of card over the puddle of wax then left it to dry. Using a LF stitched hillside die, I cut the bottom panel in white then stamped the greeting from Create a Smile which I won in a comp and haven't used until now. The finished panel was then attached to a kraft base card.

That's about it for now, so if the internet is working,

Who doesn't like cake?

Good morning folks and welcome to another challenge over at Cardz4Galz.
Before I go any further can I just apologise for not being around to comment, as, as well as having internet problems here my Son's was down when we went to visit yesterday so I've only really managed to get my DT posts written! Anyway it appears to be working again, so fingers crossed!
This time our theme  at Cardz4Galz is -

CUPCAKES

Who doesn't love a cupcake.
So with out further ado here is my card.

For this card I used one of the cupcake stamps from Dee's Artsy Impressions Partytime set and stamped in Versamark and then embossed them with CLEAR ep. Because I used ep I could use w/c technique to fill in the details and create a colourful wash for the background.
I used one of my new Lawn Fawn dies to cut a curve across the finished panel then mounted the pieces on gold and added a few gold sequins. The sentiment was from a bargain bucket set stamped on white.
Please check out the rest of the DT for more fab inspiration and why not join us this time.

STAMPlorations CAS sketch

Good afternoon and welcome to a post to remind you that you have until the end of the month to play along at STAMPlorations with their sketch and/or theme challenge.
For my card I went with both the sketch and theme, but you can choose either or!

This card uses the wrong side of a large butterfly from the Trendy Butterflies set, yep you read that right. I wanted to try the kissing technique running over at Less is More so I needed a large stamp with no detail so this was perfect.
After I inked up the butterfly in pale blue I then stamped onto a script stamp inked in dark blue to pick up the detail then stamped on a panel of white card. I repeated the technique along the edge then again on some scrap. To add a little depth I added some small butterflies in the same pale blue and an extra on the scrap.
I cut a wavy panel from another piece of white using a stitched border die and then popped it up over the stamped panel on pads. The 'spare' butterflies were fussy cut one popped over kissed stamped panel, the other over a strip with the sentiment from Dee's Artsy Impressions Flowers and Frames stamped in dark blue.
I first wanted to mount the finished panel on white but then decided to go with the same blue as the greeting, so I inked the edge of my base with dark blue before gluing it down.

That's about it from me, please check out the rest of the DT and why not join us.

MYM

Good evening and welcome to another post to share a card I made for this weeks DT at ATSM.
This week we would like to see projects where you -

MAKE YOUR MARK

Here is my project for your inspiration.

Sharp eyed visitors may recognise this as a partner to my last post for ATSM. I had a ball playing with my new set of stamps from Dee's Artsy Impressions at STAMPlorations I had another go!
This time I cut a panel with a MFT rectangle die then  mounted it on a kraft base card added some twine, and a stitch MFT circle stamped with a few blossoms and birthday then stamped and cut a Happy sentiment from another STAMPloraations set.

This week we are sponsored by

The wonderful Kylie is offering a prize of a $15 certificate to our winner.
So no excuses there not to join in!

Please check out the rest of the wonderful DT and leave them some love.

   Anything goes with kraft

I was inspired by the bright panel of spring flowers.

Feeling Blue?

Good morning and welcome to a post to announce the latest challenge over at Cardz4Guyz.
I'm hoping that this gets posted on time as we have been having internet problems and our connection keeps dropping off! I will keep typing in the hope that it will at sometime get published! So if the links aren't all there straight away I do apologise.

This week it is my choice of theme and I went with -

BLUE IS THE COLOUR

So we would like to see your projects for the guy in your life, where the focus is on the colour blue.
Here is my card for your inspiration.

This card is based on one I did a while ago with a much brighter palette. (here)
I used a balloon stamp from a Dee's Artsy Impressions set Balloons and Banners and the birthday stamp from the same set. For the top panel I die cut a large balloon shape using a MFT die and then using two shades of blue to match the Copic coloured balloons, I stamped inan alternating pattern across the panel. A happy die was cut from the same blue as the base card and mounted across this and then the whole of the top panel was popped up over the stamped and coloured balloons on pads.

For more inspiration please check out the rest of the DT and why not join us this week, we would love to see what you come up with.

More parties?

Hi, I'm back again, this time to announce the start of a new challenge over at Fantasy Stampers.
This time our theme is -

All about the Boys

So, we would liked to see your STAMPED projects with a masculine theme.
Here is my card for the DT inspiration.

I've used a LOTV stamp called Football Crazy, perfect for the little football fan.
This will be added to the pile for my Grandson's forth coming party stash!
The layout is based on the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches and I've kept the layout very CAS so I can enter it over at Seize the Birthday. The image was stamped then coloured with Copics and fussy cut before mounting on a MFT stitched rectangle over which I mounted a scrap of green spotty paper. The ball was cut separately and I drew the movement lines in free hand adding a blue mount to match his top and a happy birthday stamped on a Marianne die cut tag. I popped up a panel of embossed white card followed by the little scene. The footballer was given some added dimension with a little bit of curling and foam tape before being placed in the scene.
So for more inspiration please check out the rest of the DT here and why not join in, just make sure you use a traditional stamp as your main focal point.

Forever Friends

Hi and welcome to my third post as GD for Sketch Saturday.
Here is my interpretation of this week's sketch.

This is the sketch for this week for you to use.
I was influenced by the picture over at Fusion for my colour choice and slightly tweeked Cathy's sketch with my card.
I recently went looking for some Egyptian cotton sheets with my friend Di and while in the shop I bought a couple of stamps, including this little Forever Friends bear as part of the DoCrafts 'Classic Decadence' set. The image reflects the cake in their pic plus ATCAS have the cue word CAKE!
I went with a Sizzix chevron EF for the side panel and for a little celebratory twist I used some gold card hi lights that I embossed with a CC hessian EF, with hindsight perhaps I should have added an extra candle as it is Fusion's 2nd year celebration!
The sentiment has been in my stash unloved for what must be over two years, it came free with other images by Polka Doodles with Simply Cards and Papercraft and I thought it fit the bill here. After a little bit of stamping and masking to split the sentiment up as it was rather too square in it's original form, I then used my new MFT blueprints banner die. I stamped the bear on a MFT pierced rectangle then coloured with Copics. The smaller pink and yellow banners were stamped with a STAMPlorations chevron stamp then fussy cut and mounted under the raised side panel.

This week we are sponsored by

Please check out the DT's inspiration then why not join in.

I took inspiration from the cupcakes, yellow chevron runner, white table cloth and the colours of the flowers.
