Happy New Year

Good evening everyone.
We're in that strange post Christmas period, not holiday but not normal working. I've been prowling around my craftroom trying to settle to some crafting but couldn't think what to do until I came across the
Very appropriately it's Happy New Year. So I have been crafting this afternoon with a purpose.
Here is the result.

The champagne bottle is an Ellison thin cut that I've had since I first started crafting yonks ago. The bottle is made from green glitter card, the neck and foil label from gold card. The label and shoulders are in plain white card. The cork is craft card edged with Vintage Photo. The bubbles are punched out of the top layer then over layed on a sheet of silver glitter paper. The greeting is from LOTV.

I shall enter it in the following challenges:-
CAS on Sunday - Anything goes
Creative Inspirations - Anything goes
"Less is more" - Past challenges-Wk99-100 Drink
CASology - Party

So if I don't get to blog again

HAPPY NEW YEAR

and thanks for calling around,

Marianne Challenge 2

Good afternoon everyone.
It's feels good to be back at the computer. Had a few days away with my son and I haven't been able to craft. I did have some good news while I was there though. The observant of you will have noticed the logo to the left of this post. Yep I was awarded Top Addict by those lovely girls at ATSM. Thank-you. I did like the card I submitted but self praise is no recommendation, as my Mum used to say. On the down side I did have an entry deleted ( feels a bit harsh saying that) for not complying with the brief. I thought I had but its a salutary warning. It would appear that Marianne Designs have strict rules. It was my first attempt at this challenge so not being disheartened I am entering their new challenge, CAS. Here is my card.

The skater is a Don and Daisy stamp I have used before and the Scandinavian snowflake strip was a freebie from a magazine. The string is Cardmakers rope from Marianne. The skater was coloured using Copics and is mounted on pads. The 'ice rink' is an off cut of some silver mirror card.

Thanks for popping by and if I don't get time to blog again before Christmas,

Season's Greetings to all.

Josh's 21st Birthday and Marianne Design Divas Guest Designer

Good morning fellow crafters. Its been a bit wild and woolly down here over the last day. Still the white fluffy stuff  is keeping away so far. I don't mind it when I have nowhere to go but with family descending from all points north for Christmas it would be better if it stayed away for the moment.

Now for some really good news. I have been asked to be a guest designer for this months Marianne Design Divas! A call went out in October and I sent my name in not thinking I would get the opportunity but hey if you don't ask you don't get. Now the hard bit of coming up with a design using 3 Marianne products. The theme of Anything goes made it slightly easier, but after the initial high of being asked its a different story to come up with a design that would not disgrace the team. So without further ado here it is:-

As it was an 'Anything goes' challenge I decided to make a card for my neighbour's son's 21st.

I used the following Marianne Design products:-
Collectables COL1315  (checked and stamped)
Craftables CR1254 frame to cut striped LOTV paper edged in Faded Jeans and reinforcement dies in same paper as background.
Cardmakers rope blue/white JU0836

Josh is a keen Huddersfield Town supporter so this image from LOTV was just perfect. The stamp was coloured in 'Town' colours with Copics. and mounted on a starburst circle (Sizzix inverted scalloped circle) cut from the same backing paper. The trophy die cut in silver card is cut from an old Ellison die, with Tim Holtz 'Carnivale' numbers in white. Happy Birthday background stamp is Heroarts and assorted papers from the stash. The letters for the name is a Sizzix alphabet set- First Steps. The bunting I cut free hand from off cuts of the striped paper and edged in Faded Jeans distressed ink and glued onto cardmakers rope.
I think the little reinforcements give a masculine option instead of the buttons, I usually like to use on men's cards.

I shall enter it in the following challenges:-

Stamping Sensations:- Free and easy
Here comes the boys :- Anything goes

Well that's it folks, thanks for popping around and for Blankina and the team for asking for my input.

Marianne Challenge

Afternoon everyone.
While browsing blogs the other week, I came across the Marianne Design Challenge blog. As I said before I like a challenge and as you can only use Marianne items in this, that was a real challenge. I don't have that many Marianne items so the offer of winning some extra 'Candy' was enticing. So here goes.
'Santa please leave me some extra special treats under the tree this year.'

While I was over there I also saw their latest challenge- one colour, so I thought I would enter this little offering.

The image is from their downloads page, a great idea if you don't have the Marianne images or stamps to use. It was cut out using the small circle from Craftable die CR1239 and I edged it in Vintage Photo, as were all the other elements.
The base card is a Creatable die LR0112 as is the snowflake on the ribbon and the swirls. The image is mounted on the out cut of the frame Craftable die CR1239. The frame is mounted on pads to create a shadow interest.
I will  enter it in these challenges:-
Allsorts Challenge - Snowflakes
Well that's about it folks, see you again sometime.

Ski into Christmas

Morning all.
Looks like both my hubby and I have the dreaded winter cold and sore throat. Hope it gets better before Christmas. There seems to be a lot of it around even over in Italy as my friend Chris cancelled on Wednesday as she had come back from looking after the Grand kids with a shocker.
So it's been a while since I did any crafting or sat at the computer typing and it has been noticed! So for my friend Di's benefit here is a card for today.

The little skier is a LOTV stamp minus the little dog, which I didn't want on this image. I used Copics to colour him and the trees which were cut from a Marinne Christmas tree die LR0136. None of the trees are the actual die, the 3 behind the skier have only 3 branches and a reduced tip and the foreground trees have had the bottom branches cut away. These are the colours I used:-

Hat gloves and scarf - B99,97, 95,93  C5,3,0, blender
Skis - C10,7,5
Ski suit - R39,37,35,32
Trees - YG67,63,61, G29,28,21, YG17, E59,57,55

The snow was made using Stampendous chalky white embossing enamel. I always get this all over and very little on the project where I want it, so I hi lighted some areas with an embossing pen first.
The background to the central image was a piece of card embossed using a Cuttlebug folder. The hills I cut freehand and the frame was also cut freehand, then the middle cut out using a Sizzix Ornate labels 2 die. This is mounted on pads and the trees and skier mounted on top.
The inner was layered with some swiss dot embossed card and a LOTV sentiment stamped onto a small label cut out on pads. Snowflake from a Woodware punch.

I shall enter it for the following challenges:-
ABC Christmas Challenge   Y - You make (own embellishments)
Crafty Little Fairies  Let it Snow
Creative Inspirations -Traditional Christmas Colours
Addicted to stamps and more - Photo inspiration
Penny Black and More :- Traditional Christmas colours

That's all for now, thanks for stopping by.

Molly with a lantern

Evening all, thanks for popping by.
Just looked out of the window and there is the most glorious sunset tonight. It's been a pretty good day here today, hopefully the really bad weather has passed for a while. Hubby has been cutting down an old hawthorn in our top hedge today. The hedge is very old and forms the parish boundary so the trees are somewhat veteran in status and quite brittle. The hellish winds of last week took their toll and one crashed onto the fence so it had to come out. Hopefully it will regrow from the base if the pesky rabbits leave it alone.

Now for today's card. I haven't been crafting much these last couple of days as I have made and written most of my Christmas cards but I'm off to visit an old friend for a chat and needed one for her. Chris is really into red so that was the hook as well as the Sketch and Stash sketch for this fortnight.

The image is from Molly Bloom and I coloured it using Copics, reds and beiges. The papers I have used before but I like the feel of them with the reds and neutral theme. The base card was from a 12" sheet of Bazzil craft card. The snowflake edge punch is from Martha Stewart, as is the small snowflake. The large one is from Cuttlebug. The greeting is from LOTV and is mounted on a Spellbinders Lacey Circle. The card candy is from Craftwork cards and the doily die from Magnolia. Lace from the stash.

I shall enter it in the following challenges:-

ABC  - Almost Christmas

Thanks for popping by and do leave a comment I love to read them all.

Frosty the Snowman

Morning all, thanks for dropping by.
Trouble with our internet connection yesterday evening so no post, so here I am this morning.
Typing is a little tricky as Max the pooch has decided to fall asleep on my lap while I browsed the web earlier. He's very little but a good hot water bottle!
Had a serious session on Saturday writing cards which I had better post! I am still a few short in the not too fat to post category. Today's card is hopefully one of those.

The stamp is by Molly Bloom and I coloured him using Copics. The scarf is in my favourite footy team colours, Sheffield Utd, not doing too well this season but they appear to be getting better! The design also allowed me to use up some of those scraps of paper you always have left over and don't want to throw away.

I shall enter it in the following challenges:-
Crafty Little Fairies - Classic Christmas , red green and gold (32)
Allsorts - Inspired by a Christmas song --Frosty the Snowman (52)

Well thanks for dropping 'round, bye.

Purple Tilda Angel

Evening  and thanks for stopping by.
I was really excited this morning as I had ordered a couple of new dies from Sir Stampalot yesterday and they were due with the post about 9. I dashed out to check the postbox when I saw the postie going back up the drive but 'boo hiss' no packet just my husband's magazine and a little red and white card saying 'You were out and the parcel is too big to put in, please leave 5 hours before contacting your local sorting office to arrange collection or redelivery' !!!!!!!!
Why hadn't he rung the bell or why hadn't the dog barked? Answer he had but the doorbell was broken! We had a slight power cut last week and it needed resetting for some reason. Never mind I went to pick it up at 3.30 and all is well.

Now for today's card.

I love this Tilda Angel stamp and in a few spare moments I coloured a few in preparation for a few cards I still needed. I used the following Copics;-
Hair:- Y21,26,YR24,E33
Skin:- E000,00,11,R11
Dress and tights :- V01,12,15,17
Wings:- C0,1,3
The paper is Craftwork cards 'Trim the Tree, the snowflakes are from a Cuttlebug cut and emboss set and a Sizzix die. The doily is a Doohickey die.

Think I will enre it in the following Challenges

Ribbon Girls - Magnolia Winter or Christmas
Copic Markers Norge - Anything so long as its Christmas (10)

Well thanks for stopping to look and I love to read all of your comments.

Scandinavian Christmas tree

Evening bloggers.
Just a quick post tonight as I wanted to share this card with you. I like a challenge and trying to make something to a brief really inspires me. The latest Marianne Design Divas challenge is to create a card with Ribbon and or a charm and include 3 Marianne elements.
As I don't have many Marianne dies etc., this is always a little tricky. Then this aft while in our local Tesco I noticed a Christmas card which reminded me of one I made in a class a while back and so this is the end result.

The papers used are from a pad of Marianne Scandinavian Christmas, I think which was swashing around my Christmas paper box. I used 4 different ones intotal and the star on the tree is from a set of Creatables. (LR0112) The background paper was edged in Faded Jeans and the pot was cut freehand. Jute string, (does this count as ribbon?) and charm from the stash.

Right oh, must get on with the tea now so tatty bye.

Santa

Afternoon folks. Back from the felting class. It was great fun if a little hard on my arms and shoulders. I didn't realize it was such a workout, hope the old ME doesn't flare up. Met some new people from all over the area and it only cost £7.50, what a bargain. I must have used that in materials. Hope Jackie will run a follow up class soon. She also makes glass jewelry and thought she might do a class on that also. Bring it on.

I managed a little bit of crafting last night so I can show a card today.

I just love this Sugar Nellie Santa stamp, he looks so jolly. The card shape is the same as Magnolia Birthday  but with a slight difference. The basic shape is made from a 90cm wide A4 white card strip, folded in the middle and the corners rounded off. The curve on the top is part of a Cheery Lynn doily die stuck between the base card and the red mount. The parcel paper is is mounted on red card and I used a circle punch to take away the corners. Santa is mounted on pads on a Sizzix Ornate Labels 2 die frame. Ribbon as always from the stash. Santa was coloured with Copics.

I will enter it in the Addicted to stamps challenge - Make your mark.

So that's all for today, bye and thanks for popping by.

Quick and Easy

Evening all of you happy crafters. Thought I would count up how many cards I need for posting this Christmas. I was shocked to find I needed far more than I had. Actually I had plenty but they were too thick for the normal post. I also need some to post to the US as well. I love all the embellishments and buttons but the lady at the Post Office is quite mean when it comes to just the odd corner that doesn't go through her template. The cost of posting has shot through the roof!
That meant I had to come up with something quick and easy but no thick embellishments, so here we go.

Not sure which one I prefer but they certainly fit the bill of quick and simple.
The background is made from a Cuttlebug embossing folder, the snowy hills are cut freehand (the off cut forms the front drift) from white card and the trees are from a Cuttlebug Cut n Emboss set. The trees were distressed using Tim Holtz 'Shabby Shutters'. They do look different in each card but they are the same. Greetings are from a Woodware Patchwork Trees set.

This is another quick card I made using a Woodware stamp which I coloured using Copics with a little bit of added Stickle sparkle in red. A small red bow and off-cut of red ribbon complete.

I shall enter the last card in the Allsorts challenge - Bring on the bling and the Sketch Saturday challenge.
Off to a felt making class tomorrow so I don't know if I will have time to craft when I get back,
so toodle pip for now.

Christmas Birthday

Evening all, thanks for dropping by.
I feel really sorry for people with birthdays in December as it must be overshadowed by the big day. My friend Adele, is one such person. She says as she gets older she'd rather forget her birthday but I'm sure she still likes to be remembered.

So here is the card I made for her birthday. I thought I would do it in good time as its easy to forget in the big rush towards Christmas.

I seem to be in the same palette again, but I know Adele likes browns and beiges and the dark red is a nod to the season.
The papers are from LOTV as is the stamp, Emma with parcels, I think. I have used Copics to colour as well as some paper piecing of the parcels from scraps of the main papers. The papers are edged in Vintage Photo, as are the corner details.
The lace edge punch is by Martha Stewart, doily by Magnolia, corners from Marianne and ribbon and pearls are from the stash.
Husband has gone in the bath after knocking down a wall in the back yard so I have time for myself. Tea is in the range in the simmering oven so no rush there, so time for a little more crafting!

I think I will enter this card in the following challenges:-

Crafty Little Fairies - Lace and Pearls
Creative Romance - Vintage style

Thanks for dropping over, tatty bye

Gingerbread Tilda

Evening blog surfers. I'm a bit late posting today as I've been out doing a little Christmas shopping. Just a few odds and ends as number one son hasn't told me what he wants yet! Well I've nearly finished my Christmas cards and today's means one less to make before I have a mass writing session next week.
It's based on a Tilda stamp that I picked up for half price the other week. I thought she was really cute.

The layout is from a sketch from the latest Sketch n Stash challenge. I like a good sketch as it always gives you some inspiration,
The papers are from a set I bought a few Christmases ago and never used, even though I liked them, as I couldn't think what to do with them. They are distressed on the edges with Vintage Photo then mounted on dark red paper. The background paper was also edged with a faux stitch stamp in Vintage Photo. The card base was made from some Bazzil craft card. Tilda was coloured in Copics in red and browns to match the papers. The greeting is from LOTV and pearls are from the stash.

I shall enter it in the following challenges:-
Sketch n Stash -  Challenge 126
Crafty Ribbons - Stitching

Bye for now.

White on White - Photo inspiration

Hi, good of you to drop by.
The forecast is for a little bit of the wintry stuff to arrive later on tonight and tomorrow. So long as it doesn't come down too heavy and block us in like last year, I don't mind it, its better than the grey depressing weather we've had recently.
Today's card is another take on WOW. I tried something a bit different today- no stamping, just matting a layering.

This a simple 5x7" white base card with a piece of white embossed with snowflakes and mounted on a gunmetal greypaper. On top of this is a smaller piece embossed with a falling snow folder and mounted on the same paper. The snowflake was cut then embossed using a Cuttlebug Cut n Emboss set.
The pearl and organza ribbon is from the stash and the gunmetal charm greeting is from Making Memories.

And that's it, Bob's your uncle.
I shall enter it in the following challenges
The Ribbon Girl - Colour challenge

Of to the local village quiz tonight to defend our crown. One player down as Ella went to uni this time and replacement brother has a job interview. Let's hope 3 heads are as good as 4.

Tatty bye.

Must be missing an Angel

Evening all. Just sat here crafting and listening to Johnnie Walker sounds of the seventies on Radio 2 and feeling rather old if a tad nostalgic. Having a really lazy day today, started off with such good intentions!

Today's card got the old little grey cells churning, and its those ladies over at Crafty Little Fairies fault. Their latest challenge is 'Top of the Pops' There were so many ideas fluttering around but it boiled down to which stamps I had. I chose the Magnolia stamp Little Tilda, which is a cute Angel and my song inspiration is 'There must be an Angel' by the Eurythmics.

This is quite a simple card. I used white card in a holiday words embossing folder for the background. This was mounted on silver mirror card and onto dark purple card base, Tilda was coloured using Copics
Skin - E000,00,11,R11
Dress etc - BV02,04,08
Hair - Y21,26,YR24,E25 .

The snowflake was cut from white card then coloured using BV08, the button and silver thread was from the stash.

That's about it then so see you all soon,
tatty bye for now.

Blue and brown Christmas

Evening folks.
I still can't get my head around these dark nights, they seem to eat up the daylight before you realize it.
Today's card is back to a theme I visited a few weeks ago, brown 'n' blue.
The inspiration was a Copic challenge which I like to read.

I've gone for the lovely little dancers from LOTV again, this time they are in a very subtle palette of brown n blue. I used Copics to colour as follows:-
Skin - E000,00,11,R11
Hair - Y21,E41,42,47,E35
Dresses etc - B32, 34,39, 93,95,97,99, C0,03,05
Shadow - BG10

The papers are Frosty Christmas from LOTV and NitWits Promises edged in Frayed Burlap from Tim Holtz. The snowflake border is a Memory Box die. Ribbons, lace, etc. and buttons from the stash, (it doesn't appear to be getting any smaller!).

I shall enter it in the following challenges:-

Copic Marker Norge - Christmas in Brown n Blue
Crafty Ribbons - Anything goes with ribbon
ABC- Z for zebra or stripes

Well that's all for now, 'Strictly' is off to Blackpool tonight and I need to get the tea done before the glitter ball twirls.
Bye

White on White Christmas

Evening all.
Where has today gone? Here I was working away this afternoon and suddenly its pitch black outside.
I must have been really concentrating on my crafting!
OK, here is my card for today. Its WOW as I have been reading the Creative Inspirations blog.
I like the challenge of working in a restricted palette. It makes you think that little bit harder and sometimes you can surprise yourself.

This is an easel card made using a Go Kreate large Frilly Frame. I made a mistake at first, I forgot to leave one edge as a hinge! Well I used the mistakes to cut out some embellishments so they didn't go to waste.
The skier is an old Magnolia stamp and I used Copics to colour ,keeping the palette simple, just reds, blues and brown. The sentiment is from a set from LOTV, cut and mounted using a Sizzix die set, Ornate labels 2. The embossed papers were from Cuttlebug and the trees from a Marianne die. Small snowflakes from a Xcut and Woodware punch, the large from a Sizzix Sizzlet die.

I will enter it for the following challenges:-

ABC Christmas  - W for Winter Wishes

Drop by again soon.

Dusky Pink Angels

Morning everyone out there in blogland. Just having a little break before I varnish the window sills my hubby ruined when the water he was washing the brickwork with came through the window!
I started today's card last night while all was quiet, after the Strictly results show. (Sad to see Dave go but it was probably his time.) I was going through my examples ,seeking inspiration when I came across my friend Di's Christmas card from last year. So I decided to make my take on it.

I had one eye on the latest LOTV challenge 'Pink and white', so I used the three angels and some NitWits papers in a dusky pink on an off white linen card for a vintage look.

The  NitWits, 'Warm Fuzzies' papers were edged in Tim Holtz 'Vintage Photo' then mounted on the off white card edged also in 'Vintage Photo' The inner paper was over stamped in Vintage Photo using a LOTV music stamp and texture stamps from Hobby Art. The angels smocks were coloured using Copics in RV95,R 59,81 and 85. Some Stickles were used to glitz up the clouds and crowns. The snowflakes were cut from the same off white card with centers made from blobs of Glossy Accents covered in glitter. Buttons and ribbons from the stash.
Well must get on with the varnishing. Bye for now.

Pink and sparkly

Good morning. The sun is shining brightly this morning, such a change after the last few days. I don't mind the cold so much when its sunny.

Just a quick post today as I should do some work after Ben's visit yesterday.

Quite a simple little card based on the Sketch Saturday challenge but the three little girls from LOTV are quite tricky to colour. I think I need to use my craft glasses a little more these days! Vanity usually stops me from using them.
I used Copics to colour with added stickle sparkle on the ground and on the holly berries. The spotty dress was tidied  up using Cosmic Glitter white acrylic glue on the spots. The paper is from NitWits, Merry and Bright.

I shall enter it in the following challenges:-
The Ribbon Girl - LOTV add a little sparkle
Sketch Saturday - challenge 284

That's it for today, but thank you to those of you who have left such lovely comments. Bye

White Winter

Good afternoon blog hoppers. The sun is shining but there is a decided nip in the air.
Just taking a few minutes for myself as my Grandson has arrived for a visit and I need a bit of peace and quiet after lunch.

Now for today's card. I loved the sketch from yesterday so much I made another but with a totally different feel.

The image is from a Nellie Snellen stamp I picked up from a bargain bucket in January. Its so cute.
Having seen the new post from Allsorts this morning I thought I would create something which fit the theme of White Winter. The background papers are embossed white card mounted on silver mirror board. I used the Starry Wreath again to finish the card.

I will enter this card in the following challenges:-

Allsorts- White Christmas
Stamping Sensations - Christmas

Apparently there has been a hailstorm in Sale, Manchester today, thunder and lightening as well. My daughter has just shown me the pictures, very Christmasy!

See you all soon, bye.

Snowman family

Good afternoon folks. Thought today would be quite decent weather wise but its raining and miserable here.
Anyway down to business, here is today's card.
I used one of the stamps I got from LOTV last week. They are so cute, I just had to buy it even if I do have enough Christmas stamps!

In the spirit of Yorkshire thrift I used the leftover paper from my Humphrey card plus a part sheet of blue mirror board I found in the cupboard. Don't tell but it wasn't quite big enough, so I cut the middle out of the larger Happy Christmas paper backing to use under the white snowflake paper. It also cuts down on the weight. Stripey ribbon from the stash and snowflakes from some scraps and a couple of die punches complete the card. Image coloured in Copics and background inked over a mask of the image in Tim Holtz ' Tumbled Glass and Faded Jeans' The snow is just Cosmic shimmer white acrylic glue and the hats and snow have added Stickle twinkle.

I used this sketch from Sketch n Stash as inspiration and I shall be entering today's card in their challenge, as well as the Ribbon Girl's LOTV challenge -with stripes A Creative Romance- Winter Blues, Penny Black and more- Anything goes, Addicted to stamps and more - Photo inspiration and Crafty Little Fairies - Christmas in November.

Thanks for stopping by.

Marianne Skater

Wow, I've just found out that I have won a challenge! What a great feeling it was when I opened up the post notification from Sketch n Stash to find my name listed as winner this morning.

Well enough trumpet blowing, here is today's card.

It was a bit of a challenge to make this card. I started it last week when Di was over because I'd stumbled on the Marianne blog while blog surfing because a poorly wrist had curtailed my crafting somewhat. I considered the challenge of using 3 Marianne elements worth the effort. I don't have many Marianne dies or stamps then remembered this free stamp from a magazine last year as well as some free papers. I tried using a couple of other dies but decided on this design.
I used the following Marianne products:-
Free stamp- Winter fun
2 Free papers- Scandinavian Christmas
Creatable die set - LR0112 main card and snowflake

That makes 5 elements in all.

The ribbon was from last years Sainsbury's Christmas wrapping ribbon and the swirl was cut using a Sizzix thinlet die, Swirly Vine 657230, crystal from the stash.

Hope you like it, after all the effort I must enter it for the Marianne Winter / Christmas challenge

By now

Humphrey and his reindeer

Good evening everyone. The nights are certainly drawing in now. One minute you are doing something in daylight then next its black as pitch,
Today's card is one I've been working on for ages. I got the stamp free with a magazine last year sometime but didn't know what to do with it. Then I saw a sketch on a web site last week that I thought would be ideal, but choosing the correct papers was equally problematic. I eventually went with the LOTV Frosty Christmas with some red paper to lift the feel.

I used Copics to colour the image as follows:-
Humphrey Elephant - C5,3,2,1
Slicker - Y11,15,17
Scarf etc - R32,35,37 B24,28,29
Reindeer - E11,15,25,29,Y28,38, C7,5,3,1
Snow -C0,1,2
The snow was made using Cosmic Shimmer white glue, with a few more dots than the stamp had marked.
Snowflakes from various punches and self adhesive gem stones. The new Starry Wreath makes another appearance.
I think I will enter this card in the following challenges;-

Copic Marker Norge- Christmas and a sketch
ABC Christmas  - V is for Vixen
Christmas Cards All Year - Winter Wonderland
Craftyhazelnuts Christmas challenge - Anything so long as its Christmas
Cheers and see you soon.

Winter

Good morning. Its a little better weather wise today, I actually saw a patch of blue sky at breakfast! I hope we don't have a really bad winter. I know being snowed in for a week allowed me to craft away but the logistics of getting the shopping in was a nightmare.
So when I saw this stamp on one of my forays to a little shop in the back garden of a house near the Welsh border I had to have it.
Its by Hobby Art and I have already used it in the card for my hubby, In the Country.

This time I resurrected my watercolour pens from the bottom of the drawer to give a softer finish to the image. I then added some 'Shabby White' frantage to give the snow effect. I also added some extra branches to the trees to balance it out.
The image was mounted onto some brown card then gold mirror card. The framed image was then mounted on pads on a pre stamped 5x7 white card stamped with the Papermania Christmas words stamp (currently on sale via Do Crafts web page) in Tim Holtz 'tattered straw' and then edged in the same.

I will enter it for the following challenges:-
abc challenge - Y for yellow
Addicted to stamps and more - Keep it simple
Thanks for dropping by.

Magnolia Christmas

Afternoon all. Its a foul day outside, let's hope its not going to be like this for all of November. Anyway, other than walking (more likely dragging) the dog I can carry on crafting!
Craft class was cancelled this week 'cos Karen who keeps us in order has a bad back. Get well soon Karen. Well not to let an opportunity pass, Di and I had a trip out to the ladies at LOTV in Farsley. Far too many reasons to spend but I did reign myself in and limited  myself to some stamps, paper and a couple of dies. Couldn't wait to use the wonderful 'Starry Wreath' from Memory Box. Here is my latest effort.

I used the same Papermania word stamp to make the main paper, heat embossed with white then inked with Tim Holz 'Faded Jeans' and 'Tumbled Glass' I cut a hole to show the background which was inked around the edges with the same 'Faded Jeans' and an embossed circle of pale blue using a holiday words folder. The image 'Tilda with Holy baby' was coloured with Copics as follows:-
Hair- Y21,26, YR24, E25
Skin- E000,00,11,R11
Clothes- B23,24,28,29 veil B00,02,05 blanket C0,01
Halo- Y02,15,17

The wreath was cut in white then highlighted with silver glitter. Ribbon from the stash.

I will enter it in the following challenges
Ribbon Girl - Magnolia only
Midweek Magnolias - Lots of Layers
Heck of a challenge - In the frame
Thanks for dropping by.

Magnolia birthday

Evening everyone. Had a busy day as my best friend Di is staying over for a couple of days. We did a bit of crafting then visited a local antiques and craft place to buy some more card! Di reminded me that it was our friend's birthday next week so we each made her a card. This is mine.

Chris lives near Saddleworth Moor so the dry stone wall is quite appropriate.
Just a short blog tonight as I still have a visitor, so nite all.

Sleigh ride

Good afternoon folks, thanks for popping by. Just taking a few minutes to write while my Grandson is playing with his Dadgwan upstairs. Thought I would post this little offering using the same Sugar Nellie stamp I used last week.

I used a Papermania Christmas word stamp to create the background which I then embossed with white and inked with Tim Holtz ' Faded Jeans' and 'Broken China'. I cut a circle out with a Spellbinders die to reveal the image on the lower layer. I coloured this with Copics and added some frontage to crate the snow effect. The stars and snowflakes were cut from plain white card, gems from the stash. The image layer was edged in 'Faded Jeans' and the heat embossed top layer was mounted on top on foam pads.

I am going to enter the following challenges:-
Crafty little fairies:- Anything goes
Creative Inspirations :- Anything goes

Bye for now

Another wedding

It's strange isn't it , that when your children get to a certain age there are quite a few weddings in the offing. This time it was a work colleague of my son, "Could you do me a card for this wedding I'm going to." So here it is using my very favourite LOTV wedding couple.

I wasn't sure what the colours were for the wedding so kept it pretty neutral, just some pin striped paper in grey and some white embossed card. The swirls were from a Marianne die and roses from the stash. All the card used was the same plain white. I didn't use any ribbons as it was from a bloke and  I liked the clean lines.
Anyway must dash as Strictly is now recording.

I will enter the following challenges:-
LOTV - Anything goes
ABC - Extra Special

Santa Tag

Evening all. Its been a lovely warm and sunny day down here but the nights are certainly drawing in. My wrist is still playing up, I think I hung out too much washing yesterday and today. I'm now trying to rest it. Does one finger typing count?
Well here is today's offering. It's not a card but it could be. While my left hand has been restricted I have been colouring in and this is one of my favourite Christmas stamps. It's a Santa from Sugar Nellie.

The stars and tag have been stamped with a Papermania Christmas words stamp in Tim Holtz "Faded Jeans" and finished off with stickles. Santa is coloured using Copics. The ribbons etc are from the stash.

I shall enter it in these Challenges:-
Crafty Ribbons - Anything but a card

Thanks for popping around.

A Special Christmas

Morning all. Still struggling with my wrist, so today's card has been a couple of days in the making, still its kept me sane. The stamp was a purchase from a bargain bucket last January. I love a bargain, and you can pick up some gems if you are in the right place at the right time and save some cash.

The stamp is Jingle bells from Sugar Nellie, the paper is from those fantastic girls at LOTV. My friend went over last week and asked if I wanted anything. I didn't check my phone so missed her visit! Anyway lovely Di gave me one of each of the lovely Frosty Christmas collection so I just had to use some of them. I used Copics to colour and edged the papers with frayed burlap from Tim Holtz. The card I bought from Lidl last year, I told you I liked a bargain. The doily like the ribbon and gems was from the stash.

I am going to enter it into the following challenges:-
Ribbon Girl:- Colour challenge
Allsorts:- Ribbons and Bows
Sketch Saturday:- #281
Creative Inspirations:- Autumn colours
Sketch n stash :- no 124
Crafty Ribbons:- Ribbons and bows

See you soon, bye

Molly Bloom - On the farm

Morning all. I can't say good morning 'cos its a foul day here. the rain is l;ashing down and it feels like 7o'clock its so dark! Its also grim 'cos I fell over in the mud on Saturday walking Max and sprained my wrist, so crafting is a little tricky. Anyway here is a card I made for my hubby's birthday last week. It is made using Molly Bloom stamps from a while ago.

I made it using a zig zag frame then applied the images onto each layer.
You can see this a little better in this image.

I coloured the images using Copics and the foliage and grass were cut using punches, The yard was made from torn brown card. The jute string is a joke because Al always has string in his back pocket!

I shall enter it in the following challenges:-
Heck of a Challenge - Autumn colours
Thanks for stopping by,
bye for now.
