Red Hoodie

Morning all.
Well that was a turn up for the books, a warm dry and sunny Bank Holiday weekend! After a rather soggy August so far, it had a last hurrah, before normal service resumed today.
We didn't really do much as it was a BH, so stayed close to home pottering in the garden. Hay making will have to wait as the weather for the rest of the week is mixed. It was our Ruby wedding on Sunday, where did all the years go, we were going out to celebrate but again a BH and as I hadn't booked earlier, due to my tooth problem, we had to miss that. We will be celebrating with our son on Tuesday though, as it his birthday this week.

Talking of birthdays, I made a birthday card for the new challenge at Cardz4Guyz, where our theme is -

D is for .........

Here is my card using d for dies!

All the bits are made from dies except the eyelets and string draw cords.
The main dies are from a set by MFT called Zipper and it makes a great fun masculine card. I used some red Core-dinations card from the stash that reminded me of knitted fabric and added a couple of eyelets from my stash with string ties to create the hoodie effect. The sentiment is actually the number plate from another MFT die, Road Trip. I made the little T shirt peeking out by cutting part of a circle from a scrap of white card and from another piece the same shape then a larger circle to create the welt glued over the first cut. The zip and number plate were cut from a scrap of satin silver card, then all the bits were assembled onto a white base card.
That's about it from me but please check out the rest of the team here.

I'm joining in over at -

Eyelets and string

  5. What a fun card Julie... So creative and something completely different! Yet I think you nailed the CAS-ness by keeping your layers minimal and by adding no pattern. Great job! Thanks for joining us at Less Is More!
